The 41-year-old has also appeared on TV shows such as Celebrity Juice, Gino's Italian Escape and There's No Taste Like Home - but took time out of his busy schedule to meet the people of Wolverhampton to promote his latest book Gino’s Italian Coastal Escape.

Food Warehouse store manager Adam Allmark said there was definitely a buzz in the shop when the celebrity chef walked in.

Adam said: "It all went really well. We probably had about 200 people turn up for the book signing, there was a steady flow.

"Gino was in good spirits, I had a nice 20 minute chat with him and he said he really liked the store and how big and clean it was, so we told him about how it was the biggest in the country.

"It was really great timing too as we've only been open a week and a half, so it was great publicity having Gino here. Our sales went through the roof because of it."

Gino, whose full name is Gennaro Sheffield D'Acampo, is best known for his food-focused television shows and cookbooks.
