The Spice Girls to bring reunion tour to Midlands

The speculation is over - pop icons Spice Girls will be bringing their reunion tour to the Midlands.

Two decades after the Spice Girls revolutionised the 90s pop landscape, members Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell have reformed, and will be bringing their headline world tour to Coventry's Ricoh Arena.

But 'Posh Spice' Victoria Beckham will not be heading out the tour.

A statement released by the group said: “We are beyond excited to be reuniting next year for a stadium tour.

"Bringing girl power and our message of friendship and love back to the stage feels more relevant than ever.

"We hope everyone can join us for one big Spice Girls party."

Formed in 1994 The Spice Girls, including original member Victoria Beckham, released debut single Wannabe in 1996 which hit number one in 37 countries.

Their debut album Spice sold more than 31 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling album by a female group in history.

The Spice Girls have sold 85 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling female group of all time, one of the best-selling pop groups of all time, and the biggest British pop success since The Beatles.

They have since released a variety of hit singles, such as 2 Become 1, Say You'll Be Thetre, Viva Forever, Spice Up Your Life and Who Do You Think You Are.

The Spice Girls will play Coventry's Ricoh Arena on June 3.

Tickets go on sale at 10am this Saturday.
