Bloodstock Festival 2019: Birmingham metallers SHVPES announced

Birmingham metal band SHVPES has been announced to perform at this year's Bloodstock Festival.

Formed in 2009, the Brummie band - featuring vocalist and son of Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson, Griffin Dickinson - are best known for songs such as Afterlife, State Of Mine, Skin and Bones, Two Minutes Of Hate and Calloused Hands.

The quintet have just released their brand new album, Greater Than, the follow-up to their 2016 debut album Pain. Joy. Ecstasy. Despair.

SHVPES are also set to play Birmingham's Asylum Venue this Thursday alongside Mallory Knox and fellow Birmingham band Templeton Pek for the Kerrang! Radio's Love Sucks Ball.

Other bands announced today to play the Catton Park event include Cancer Bats, Taake, Raging Speedhorn and Resin.

They will join the likes of Sabaton, Anthrax, Parkway Drive and more with nearly 90 bands still to be announced.

Bloodstock Festival takes place from August 8 to 11.
