The duo will perform sets on Sunday on the Spindle Future Stage as part of the two-day celebrations.

Andrea Di Giovanni released their EP Permission last week, ahead of Summer and Pride season.

Andrea is an openly gay gender-fluid pop artist, from Italy and based in London.

Previous singles have been championed by The Line of Best Fit, Clash Music, Spotify Fresh Finds playlists and more.

Touted by BBC Radio 1’s Clara Amfo as the embodiment of 'proper pop', Lucy Whittaker’s 2017 hit I’m Not Ever Coming Back Again charted at number 12 in the UK Viral 50 Chart, resulting in both national and international radio play of the track.

Her last release Curious played on BBC Introducing and The Tom Robinson Show on BBC Radio 6, and featured in Billboard’s Women Singing About Women article.

They will join the likes of Marc Almond, Human League, Years and Years, Kate Nash, Mabel, Nao and more at the event.

The theme of this year's festival is Love Out Loud, with a statement on the festival's website saying: "In a world where oppression and persecution of the LGBTQ+ community still exists, teen suicide continues to be a major issue and trans rights are being pushed back, even in countries considered to be progressive, now is the year to ‘Love Out Loud’."

Last year saw tens of thousands of revellers take to the streets of Birmingham for the annual event, including the pride parade.

Huge crowds watched colourful floats in the procession, with large cheers greeting staff from West Midlands Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Midlands Fire Service.

Headline artists at the festival included Rudimental, Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters and Beth Ditto.
