Manchester singer/songwriter Johnny Marr is best known as the guitarist and co-songwrite - alongside Morrissey - of The Smiths.

After The Smiths split in 1987, the 55-year-old went on to have a successful solo career, producing four full-length studio albums.

He is best known for a number of songs such as Hi Hello, Spiral Cities, New Town Velocity, East Money, Armatopia and more.

In 2013, NME honoured Marr with its Godlike Genius Award, hailing him: "Not content with rewriting the history of music with one of the world's greatest ever bands, the Smiths, he's continued to push boundaries and evolve throughout his career, working with some of the best and most exciting artists on the planet."

Formed in 1996, The Coral are best known for hits such as Dreaming of You, In The Morning, Pass It On, Bill McCai, Shadows Fall and more.

The Coral

The Merseyside quintet has released a whopping nine studio albums, with the latest being 2018 release Move Through the Dawn.

Their 2002 debut album The Coral, from which came the single Dreaming of You, was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and listed as the fourth best album of the year by NME Magazine.

Post-Brit poppers Doves will headline the summer festival.

A spokesperson for the band said: "Doves’ reputation as a committed and consistent albums band is gilded by timeless singles including There Goes The Fear, Pounding and Black And White Town.

"The Manchester band’s four albums to date, the Mercury Prize-nominated brace of Lost Souls and The Last Broadcast, followed by Some Cities and Kingdom Of Rust, stand as monuments of refined songwriting craft. Each recalls the band’s broad span of musical reference points, from the glinting riches of golden age soul and gritty garage to the woody rhythms of folk.

Doves

"Doves stepped off stage in 2010 and Jimi Goodwin, Andy and Jez Williams went their separate ways for an indefinite period. Yet they remained in touch and their three-decade-long friendship persisted as the hiatus drew on. Last year they announced their long-awaited return to fans' acclaim."

Birmingham Innercity Live will take place at Perry Park on July 28.
