The Shropshire Star launched a search to find the county's "Most Popular Indian Restaurant" a few weeks ago.

Third Place Restaurant in Shrewsbury was crowned the winner, followed by Mahim Indian Takeaway, also in Shrewsbury, and third place went to Bangla Pride in Oakengates.

Andy Maxwell, circulation sales manager at the Shropshire Star, said: "This is the second year we have run the campaign, and again we have been overwhelmed by the response from both local eateries and also our readers who went out of their way to pledge their votes for their favourite Indian restaurant.

"As a result of both reader votes and a mystery visit from our judging panel the winner of the 2017 Most Popular Indian Restaurant of the Year trophy went to Third Place Restaurant in Shrewsbury.

"The runner up was Mahim Indian Takeaway, in Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury, with third place going to Bangla Pride, in Oakengates.

"Thank you to everyone that took part."
