Featuring more than 1,000 exhibits the event, hosted by the County of Salop Steam Engine Society, takes place at Onslow Park on Sunday and Monday, covering 45 acres of parkland and six acres of trade stands.

As always, there will be a spectacle of working steam engines and beautifully preserved classic vehicles from yesteryear.

New for 2018 is a 1924 Robey Tandem road roller by the Trinidad and Tobago Asphalt Company. It spent most of its working life in the Wirksworth Quarry in Derbyshire and now belongs to David Riley from Nantwich who will be steaming up and brining it to Shrewsbury specially for the event.

In the main arena, spectators can also enjoy moving convoys of historic commercial vehicles, including buses, fire engines, vintage tractors, classic motorcycles, pre-Second World War cars and more.

The Working Field will take a nostalgic look at the farming of days gone by and demonstrate an exciting mix of impressive working machines and shire horses that capture the history and heritage of farming in the Victorian era.

Visitors are invited to attend in period costume to enjoy the attractions which also include a fair with steam-powered rides and vintage fairground music, a craft marquee and a birds of prey display.
