The seventh annual production by the Musical Theatre Production Company will begin on Saturday, December 22, but for the first time it will not be at the town's Cosy Hall community venue.

Instead the cast of local actors, singers and dancers will perform Peter Pan at the Hamilton Hall theatre at Haberdasher's Adams School's new building off the High Street.

Company director Deborah Owen said: "The Musical Theatre Production Company of Newport's youth theatre projects have presented Newport's pantomime for six years, traditionally the weekend before Christmas, transforming Cosy Hall in Water Lane into a Christmas Wonderland to be enjoyed by local residents both old and young.

"This year the pantomime has had to find a new performance venue but will still be staged.

"Great young singers and dancers will entertain you with all the usual panto jokes, ghost gags and fun audience participation.

"Santa's elves and Mother Christmas will be there too interacting with the children telling them stories of Santa and making sure he gets their last minute lists.

"Peter Pan will have four performances this year, at 2.30 and 7pm on Saturday and at 11.30am and 3.30pm on Sunday.

"Tickets will be emailed this year for you to bring your e-ticket along with you."
