A yellow warning has been issued for the region between midnight today and noon tomorrow.

The Met Office says that ice will form on some surfaces overnight into tomorrow morning across much of the UK.

It says there is a danger of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, with ice on some roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Some roads and railway lines could be affected, with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.

Gritters are due on the roads as rain turns to ice.
