Woman cut free after car and tanker crash at Shropshire junction

A woman was cut free after a car and a tanker crashed at a Shropshire road junction.

Emergency crews including an air ambulance have rushed to the scene of the collision A4117 and the B4363, in Cleobury Mortimer, at about 4.40pm on Wednesday.

The injured driver was then taken by road to hospital.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Murray MacGregor said: "We were called to reports of a car and tanker involved in a collision.

"There was a woman in the car who was assessed at the scene before being was taken to Worcester Hospital on blue lights. The air ambulance was scrambled from Strensham, but was not needed.

"The male tanker driver was shaken up, but otherwise unhurt.

Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service crews used cutting gear to assist the woman. Its rescue tender was mobilised along with crews based in the town, Ludlow and Wellington. An operations officer also attended.
