The retailer is set to move from its current home in Telford Shopping Centre to a new unit on the former site of Telford & Wrekin Council as part of the Southwater development on February 17.

Now the company has revealed that it is to create 50 additional jobs in the 42,500sq ft superstore, on top of the 320 which will be moved from its existing shop.

Asda is now advertising for a mixture of part-time positions across a number of departments. The Telford store's general manager Kevin Prince said: "We're looking forward to relocating to the new store in Telford, creating an additional 50 jobs and offering our customers even more choice under one roof."

The new store will incorporate a 28,628sq ft food hall, a section selling items such as homewares and technology, and a 6,856sq ft George clothes section, an opticians and a Click & Collect service.

There will be a 500-space car park underneath the store.
