Callum Crighton-Poli, 18, of Hollies Drive, Bayston Hill, had admitted a charge of supplying cannabis when he appeared at Telford Magistrates Court last month.

At Shrewsbury Crown Court he was made subject of a 12-month community order with a requirement to complete a rehabilitation activity over 30 days.

Howard Searle, prosecuting, told the court that Crighton-Poli had been arrested on October 20 last year when police saw him and another man in an alleyway in Bayston Hill, known as a location where residents had reported the sale and use of drugs.

After looking at Crighton-Poli's mobile phone police found evidence of the sale of cannabis to four people.

The amounts were said to be small scale, with sales of £10, £40, and £90.

Sentencing, Recorder Huston said: "It is obvious that you have to realise that anything involving a life which circles around cannabis and nothing else is incredibly destructive and if you continue in this way you will end up as a complete and abject failure."

The recorder said he was not imposing any community service because he did not want Crighton-Poli to be around other people involved with cannabis.
