Woman, 86, killed in crash is named

A pensioner who was killed in a crash near Chirk has been named.

Laura Roberts, 86, of Chirk, was a passenger in a car that was involved in a crash with a van outside the Bridge Inn pub, Chirk Bank, on September 9.

She died at University Hospital North Staffs on September 20.

Her family said: "Laura was a beloved Mam, Nain and Hen Nain. She will be sadly missed to all that knew her."

West Mercia Police is still appealing for any witnesses that may have seen the collision on Chirk Road to come forward.

The crash happened at about 8.30pm when a white Peugeot Partner van collided with a blue Volkswagen Passat.
