Cash and card stolen in Shawbury distraction burglary

Burglars stole cash and a debit card after distracting the owner at an address in Shawbury.

West Mercia Police said the offenders stole the items while the occupant was distracted after calling at the address in Wytheford Road.

The burglary happened yesterday afternoon, between 1.30pm and 1.45pm.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the burglary and are appealing for witnesses.

In particular the police say they are keen to speak to anyone who was driving along the B5063 Wytheford Road, near to the Fox and Hounds Pub, either towards the junction for the A53 or out of the village in the direction of Walton who has dashcam footage or saw a white/silver Vauxhall Astra van, as well as anyone who may have seen a similar van parked on the road.
