Between midday and 1pm on October 26 a man called at a house in Grafton Mews, off Gloucester Road, in Harlescott Grange claiming to be inspecting drains for the local water board.

A check with Severn Trent identified him as a bogus caller. When refused entry, the caller, described as white, around 35 years old, well built, with shortish dark brown hair and wearing a Severn Trent jumper and high visability jacket, left as a passenger in a van.

Anyone with information should call West Mercia Police on 101 and quote incident reference 0443s 261018.

The day before, between 2pm-2.30pm, someone tried to open an unlocked house door and was then seen running from the house. The man had possibly been scared away by the householders terriers.

He was described as about 5ft 9’ tall, well built, and wearing dark clothes. Anyone with information should call 101 and quote 0390s 251018.
