Pair released under investigation over Oswestry slash attack

Two teenagers arrested on suspicion of assault after a woman had her face slashed in Oswestry have been released under investigation.

On January 7, at around 6.20pm, the 30-year-old woman was taken to hospital following an assault in the Shelf Bank area of Oswestry.

Police said she suffered a slash injury to her face, and although her injuries were significant they were not life-threatening.

Two men, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of assault and have since been released under investigation.

At the time, Detective Inspector Scott Harris launched an appeal for witnesses, and said: "This was a nasty attack that has left the victim with significant injuries. If anyone was in the area around the time of the incidents then we would urge them to get in contact.”
