Two charged over £1 million cannabis haul

Two men will appear in crown court next month after a cannabis factory worth an estimated £1 million was uncovered by officers in Mid Wales.

On Saturday, Dyfed-Powys Police officers in Newtown executed a warrant at an address in Stone Street, where a significant amount of cannabis plants were found.

Police said that 1,600 plants were discovered with an estimated street value of £1 million, and two men were arrested and charged with the production of cannabis.

Guyet Huang, 21, of no fixed abode, and Khoai Nguyen, 38, of no fixed abode, both appear before Welshpool Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

No pleas were entered by the pair, and the case was sent for a plea and case management hearing at Mold Crown Court on February 15.
