Arrests after van stolen in Church Stretton as driver delivered parcels

Three men have been arrested after a Ford Transit van was stolen from a delivery driver in Church Stretton and recovered by police.

The vehicle theft happened at around 11.20am on Wednesday, when the white van was stolen from Watling Street as the driver delivered parcels.

A call was made to the police by a witness within seconds of the theft and officers were rapidly deployed to the area in an effort to prevent the thieves from getting away.

The van was fitted with a tracker device and within half an hour officers had located it in the area of Wistanstow - no one was with the vehicle.

Following other enquiries in the area, three men in another vehicle nearby were arrested and are helping police with ongoing enquiries into the incident.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area during the time and witnessed the theft taking place or who may have information that may help the police identify those involved in this crime.

Police are particularly interested in any witnesses who saw the arrival of the van in the Wistanstow area, as their information could help in the continuing enquiries into this crime.
