A shed was broken into in Easthope between 4pm on Thursday and 10am on Friday last week. A number of power tools were taken and the culprits damaged the building as they forced entry.

A separate burglary was also committed on the same night in the village, when tools were stolen from three outbuildings in a garden.

A Stilh hedge trimmer, Makita drill, JCB circular saw and a power sander were taken. The incident happened between 11pm on Thursday night and 8am on Friday morning.

The locks on all three outbuildings were forced, causing damage.

PCSO Mal Goddard said: "The police advise you to keep your doors locked at all times, even if you are in the house.

"If you live in the Easthope area and have not been to your outbuildings in the last few days, it may be worth checking them."

If you have any information that could help with either incident, call police on 101, quoting reference number 0143S 170519.
