Paedophile hunted down by vigilantes admits child sex offences

A paedophile who was hunted down by online vigilantes has admitted two child sex offences.

Gurmej Singh, 40, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court to admit to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child under 16 and attempting to arrange or facilitate the commissioning of sexual activity with a child. Both offences took place in Telford.

Singh, of Turnberry Road, Great Barr, Birmingham, previously pleaded not guilty to offences relating to this case, and was due to face trial in May this year. The charges relate to incidents which took place between July 18 and July 28, 2018.

His sentence has been adjourned until February 10 for pre-sentence reports and so a Punjabi interpreter can be organised.
