Inspectors from the Care Quality Commission found that The Priory Nursing Home in Wellington has made all agreed improvements during their visit in March.

The report says: "We found at this inspection people were receiving good care and support and this was fully documented. People were fully involved in the care they received and any changes to the environment they lived in.

"Staff also confirmed that they felt that they could approach management at any time and stated 'it’s a happy place to work'."

Registered home manager Yvonne Griffith said: “We are all absolutely delighted with the ‘Good’ rating.

"The team have worked incredibly hard to enhance life in the home for all of our residents, and we are looking forward to continuing the development of the Home and the Person centred care we provide."

The home, which provides residential and nursing care for up to 36 people, some living with dementia, was previously rated "Requires Improvement" and had to make an action plan demonstrating how it would improve standards.

Dr Ranjna Sharma, managing director of Purity Nursing Ltd, said: “This report shows that, under Yvonne Griffith’s leadership, the team at The Priory has significantly improved standards in the home, and should all be extremely proud of this result.

"I would also like to take this opportunity in thanking our residents, resident's families and staff for the continued support they have shown to The Priory .”

During it's previous report, the residential home was rated as "Good" across effectiveness, caring and responsiveness.

But inspectors told them they needed to improve safety and leadership at the home.
