Remembrance day bench installed in town

A town council has been busy preparing for remembrance day and have purchased and installed a new bench.

Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council has purchased and installed a new remembrance bench to complete the set outside the memorial gates on the edge of the town hall grounds.

A from Powys County Council it enabled the town council to refurbish and paint the memorial gates which finished the work previously undertaken on the war memorial earlier in the year.

Working with local schools and youth groups, memorial stones have been placed in the war memorial on display for the weekend. The town council are hosting a remembrance tea party on Saturday at the Elephant and Castle.
