Tractor destroyed by fire near Market Drayton

A tractor was destroyed in a fire near Market Drayton.

It happened at around 6pm last night in a field in Onneley near Woore.

Crews from Market Drayton and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue firefighters based in Newcastle teamed up to tackle the blaze.

Two hose reel jets were used to put out the flames. The tractor, a Manitou, was severely damaged.

Elsewhere, 100 metres of undergrowth were destroyed in a fire near Bridgnorth.

It happened yesterday at about 6.45pm.

One fire crew was sent from Bridgnorth to Chelmarsh to tackle the blaze.

They used one hose reel jet and beaters.

The fire was out by 7.10pm.
