Unattended candles set fire to bathroom in Wem
Candles which were left unattended set fire to the bathroom of a home in Wem today.
A warning has been issued for people to be careful after two fire crews were sent out to the property in Churchill Drive, in the early hours of this morning.
The crews used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, covering jet and a thermal imaging camera.
They arrived at about 12.25am and the fire was out by 1.05am.
After the fire they had to help with a burst water pipe.
The crews took to Twitter once the flames were out to issue a warning.
"Mobilised to Churchill Drive, Wem, for a fire involving bathroom due to candles," they wrote.
"Please don't leave candles to burn unattended."
