Family in tribute to adoring Elllesmere father
The family of a man who died in Ellesmere town centre has thanked those who went to his aid.
Daniel Williams, 38, is thought to have fallen in Birch Road on Saturday night.
A number of people went to help him. Some began CPR on the unconscious Mr Williams while others ran to get the defibrillator from the main car park in the town.
Despite their efforts and those of paramedics, Mr Williams could not be saved.
Flowers have been left on the side of the road where Mr Williams died.
His mother, Jenny Williams, said her son, who was also known as Dan, had grown up in Ellesmere and gone to school in the town.
He moved to the south of England but had recently returned to live in Ellesmere.
Speaking on behalf of her family Mrs Williams said they were all completely devastated.
"We want to move forward in a positive way for his children," she said.
"Daniel had four young children who absolutely adored him and he adored them. They were his world, he loved them so much.
"We can not thank enough all those people who tried to help him, those who stayed with him and those to ran to get the defibrillator.
"It is a comfort to know that Daniel was not alone when he died, that there were people with him.
"Defibrillators are so important and I understand that there are people in Ellesmere who are currently fundraising to get another one for the town."
