Pedestrian injured after being hit by car near Oswestry

A pedestrian was taken to hospital after being hit by a car near Oswestry.

The collision occurred in St Martins near Oswestry yesterday evening at about 8pm.

Police said the collision happened close to Stan's Superstore supermarket.

Officers said the pedestrian was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by ambulance with injuries not thought to be life threatening.

Overton Road in the village was closed while police dealt with the incident.
