Shrewsbury was crowned Infrastructure champion in last night’s annual Let’s Celebrate Towns awards, in a ceremony at the House of Lords.
Boasting more than 600 listed buildings including the Castle and world-famous Shrewsbury Abbey - home of the fictional Brother Cadfael - Shrewsbury is a must visit place. The county town is the birthplace of Charles Darwin and is within a loop of the River Severn providing beautiful riverside walks. The town is also home to Shropshire's only football league side.
