Wedding venue plans for historical Shrewsbury hall

A new wedding venue could be created in Shrewsbury if plans are accepted.

An application has been submitted to Shropshire Council for part of Netley Hall, Dorrington, to be turned into a wedding venue.

The ground floor of the building is currently used for residential purposes, and under plans it would also be used for the owner's wedding business.

Netley Hall is a Grade II listed building, currently used as a family home with a variety of businesses running in the grounds. This includes Netley Hall Holidays, weddings, events and equestrian uses.

The existing site has a 150 space car park which will be used for the existing use as well as this proposal.

In the plans it says: "Netley Hall is accessed 0.7 mile south west of the A49 via an unclassified road.

"This road has a number of passing places between Netley Hall’s private access drive and the A49 junction and both junctions have good visibility.

"The proposal would not generate any increase in vehicle movements than is currently the case, and the private access drive is half a mile long and provides good access to the site."

The plans will be considered by Shropshire Council in the coming weeks.
