Regulars at the Albion Vaults raised £320 with a charity wheelchair race

Drinkers from the Albion Vaults in Castle Foregate raised money for The Movement Centre in Gobowen, which provides life-changing therapies for children with mobility problems.

Two teams of regulars pushed wheelchair-bound bar manager Dave 'Jenka' Jenks, and disabled customer Pete Benbow around the town in a race which took in five hostelries, where they were required to down a pint and play a song on the jukebox.

They sold raffle tickets along the way, and they will now be handing over the money on Tuesday.

Landlord Chris Jones said he was delighted with the amount raised, and thanked the generosity of his regulars.

The pub is hosting another charity fundraiser on Sunday from 4pm onwards, including a quiz night and raffle, in aid for mental health charity Mind.
