Flood barriers going up in Shrewsbury
Flood defence barriers are being put up in Shrewsbury today in preparation for heavy rain and rising river levels, the Environment Agency says.
The Frankwell Riverside car park in Shrewsbury has closed and there is only restricted access to the main car park.
Flood warnings are currently in place along the Vyrnwy in Maesbrook and Melverley.
There is also a flood alert for the River Severn in Shropshire, warning that flooding is possible.
Shropshire Council encouraged people to use the park and ride service instead of parking in Frankwell where possible.
