Six-year-old boy rescued after fall in Carding Mill Valley

A six-year-old boy was rescued after he fell and hurt his leg in Carding Mill Valley.

Two fire crews were sent from Church Stretton, as well as an ambulance.

Firefighters helped in carrying the youngster off Cow Ridge by stretcher.

It happened at about 1.20pm yesterday, and it took crews around 40 minutes to rescue the boy.

Jim Barker, of Shropshire Fire and Rescue, said: "Shropshire Fire and West Midlands Ambulance Service have just carried out a rescue of a young walker who had fallen and injured his leg in Carding Mill Valley..

"Great work by all and wishing our new friend a speedy recovery."
