Mrs Wilkinson, who trained and served at MoD Donnington, moved in to the Old Rectory Home in Tenbury Wells in December 2018.

To celebrate her milestone birthday yesterday, Mrs Wilkinson's daughter Jean Prosser hosted a family party at her home nearby.

Mrs Wilkinson, née Cox, grew up in London, and served in the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) between July 3, 1942, and June 27, 1945.

Over the course of the war, Mrs Wilkinson was stationed at Chelsea Barracks, Aldermaston, Donnington and Reading.

She met her husband Charles (Charlie) during the war, and they were married on December 9, 1944.

As well as daughter Jean, the couple had two sons, Alan and Eric, and the family lived in Essex. Mrs Wilkinson moved to Tenbury a year ago to be near her daughter.

Following in her footsteps, Mrs Wilkinson's great grandson is due to begin training at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

To honour Mrs Wilkinson's 100th birthday, the Women’s Royal Army Corps Association has granted her lifetime membership.
