Residents will be able to spend their time basking in the sun with temperatures forecast of around 19C (66.2F), warmer than the average Easter holidays.

Temperatures are expected to rise and by tomorrow, it will become much warmer.

A dry and warm bank holiday weekend, with plenty of sunshine is expected, according to the Met Office.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Steve Willington said: "Temperatures will start to rise day by day and with the sun getting stronger at this time of year, it’s going to feel warm or very warm on Good Friday and Easter Saturday.

"Temperatures will reach into the low 20s quite widely and there’s a good chance some places in the south could see temperatures peaking around 23C (73.4F)

"With temperatures usually around 10 to 13 Celsius at this time of year, it’s certainly going to be significantly warmer than average this Easter weekend and quite a contrast to the colder weather we have seen so far this month.”

For those planning an Easter break in the UK, temperatures in Cornwall are set to peak at 17C (62.6F) over the weekend.

Tenby, a holiday destination in South-East Wales, will be cooler – as will the rest of Wales – with temperatures reaching highs of 15C (59F).

Yorkshire will reach highs of 19C (66.2F) over the weekend, with the county becoming cloudier with patchy rain on Sunday.

Cooler weather is set to arrive on Easter Sunday, gradually de-creasing the temperature.
