Anna Brennand has worked for the trust for more than a decade, but will now take over a rural regeneration charity in Scotland.

Having joined the Trust in 2007 as director of finance and resources, Anna became CEO in 2013. During her tenure, Anna has led a number of successful redevelopment projects, including the £12m redevelopment of Blists Hill Victorian Town and the redevelopment of the Museum of the Gorge and Museum of Iron.

Anna has also led a decade of transformation within the organisation, securing funding from Arts Council England and a £1m Heritage Lottery Fund endowment grant to support the ongoing operation of the independent Trust.

“I am immensely proud of everything we as a team have achieved over the past decade," she said. "As well as our many project successes, I am particularly grateful for the donation of the John Scott collection and the creation of a new gallery to put this incredible material on display.

"For me, it celebrates the creativity that sits at the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums and I wish the Museum all the best for the future.”

Professor Ross Prior, chairman of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust, said: “We are sorry that Anna is leaving Ironbridge. She has achieved a huge amount during her time at the trust, raising Ironbridge’s profile and securing major funding and partnerships.

"We thank her most sincerely for her work and we wish her all the very best for the future. As a trust we look to the future and the continuing ambitions of the museum."

Miss Brennand will leave the Trust at the end of April 2019. The Board are in the process of appointing an interim Chief Executive to handover with Anna whilst a permanent successor is sought in the new year to take forward the museum’s future plans.
