Man, 39, charged after Telford crossbow terror

A man has been charged after an incident which saw people threatened with a crossbow in Telford.

Stuart Penn, 39, of Castle Street, Telford, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on August 30 in relation to the incident.

He has been charged with affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.

The incident happened on Sunday at about 9pm in the Leegate Avenue and Hurleybrook Way area of Leegomery.

Officers also seized a crossbow and two bolts from the scene.

Witnesses are asked to get in touch with investigating officers. Call police on 101, citing reference 737s of July 28.
