Ken Block releases insane Gymkhana Ten video

Rally driver and self-proclaimed ‘Hoonigan’ Ken Block has released the tenth video in his Gymkhana series.

Named the ‘Ultimate Tyre Slaying Tour’, it’s a display of Block’s prowess in precision and stunt driving and takes in five distinct locations – in five different vehicles. The Ford-sponsored series sees Block take to the tarmac in a Focus RS RX rally machine, a Fiesta WRC, a 1991 Escort RS Cosworth, and his own Hoonicorn Mustang and Hoonitruck F150.

All have been seriously highly tuned, and power outputs range from 380bhp for the Fiesta’s four-cylinder to an astonishing 1,400bhp in the Hoonicorn.

Block starts out on a frozen lake in Sweden, but also ‘hoons’ in Detroit, Los Angeles, Guanajuato in Mexico and Shamrock in Texas.

The 19-minute long video is an impressive display of close-contact drifting, crazy stunts and, of course, total disregard for manufacturer guidelines on the correct use of tyres. At one stage, Block even drives the Escort on its bare rims to create a dazzling spark show.

With cameos from several skilled drivers – including the 16-year old son of rally legend Petter Solberg – Gymkhana Ten is certainly packed with action. It’s now live on YouTube, following a ten-day early access pass for Amazon Prime users. In the first 24 hours of release, it’s already clocked up over 1.2 million views.
