Car overturns in A41 crash near Market Drayton

A motorist escaped serious injuries when the car she was driving overturned on a busy road near Market Drayton.

The woman was able to get out of the vehicle when it came to rest.

She suffered minor injuries when the car left the carriageway on the A41 at Bletchley on Monday night.

Emergency crews have rushed to the scene following reports of a collision.

West Midlands ambulance Service spokeswoman Claire Brown said: "We were called just before 8.30pm to reports of a road traffic collision where a car had overturned. One ambulance attended. We treated one woman, who had managed to get out of the vehicle herself, for minor injuries.

"She was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further checks."

Crews from Hodnet, Wellington and Market Drayton fire stations also attended the incident

The fire service said no one was trapped inside the vehicle and it made the saloon car safe. The crews were able to leave the scene at 9pm.
