No-one wants to be the leader who drags the country under

Let’s just rescind Article 50, so we can remain – it’ll only be a few weeks of strife.

Theresa May

What’s the worst that could happen? A week or two of heightened anger on Facebook? Brexit was never, ever going to work out, whoever was in charge.

Why didn’t all of these prominent Brexiteer leadership candidates step up? I believe that it is because no-one wants to go down in history as the PM who turned the United Kingdom from a position of massive strength to a sitting duck and vulnerable, relying on past relationships and glories to forge a new future.

I might be completely wrong but who do we have faith in to turn Brexit into a positive scenario?

We have a society with free education and free healthcare. If typical education isn’t to one’s liking, there are vocational qualifications.

So there is something for everyone.

Admittedly, the NHS has its flaws and it is stretched, but if a person who has spent his or her life gorging on takeaways and junk whilst not performing any exercise so that they reach 20-plus stones in weight, can have corrective and invasive surgery (gastric bands etc) to correct their lack of control and entitlement, then it’s an amazing service on offer, despite having to wait a few months longer than you feel that you should do.

So with all of the above, people still feel entitled to have more, or more accurately they feel entitled that the government should be doing more to improve their lives.

I get the altruistic viewpoint too – we have homeless, but nothing on the scale of the US.

What is Brexit going to achieve?

I’ve really tried to convince myself that Brexit will be a good thing, but I just do not understand how.

May’s deal is damage limitation. It’ll never get passed in Parliament, however it is so much more preferable than a no deal, hard Brexit.

I do hope I’m wrong and am misinformed, or have missed something glaringly obvious and Brexit will be a massive success, however......
