In support of the protesters

I have been following the extinction rebellion protests with interest and do support their efforts to evoke a response from government regarding climate breakdown. I just hope that government acts swiftly. It is sad that extinction rebellion activists feel they have to take such radical action which disrupts so many.

Why can't government just do the right thing of its own accord without having to be constantly prompted and prodded by its citizens? Government should be leading the way on protecting the environment, not its citizens.
