Bayley boys rack up seventh title in a row

Record-breaking Sir John Bayley Club were in seventh heaven at a Shropshire veterans league’s presentation social evening.

The champions of the Peter Morris Cars Mid Shropshire Senior Citizens League received the First Division trophy for the seventh year in a row at the Sinclair Club in Ketley, Telford.

And the success did not end there for the Wellington club as the Bayley B team were crowned Second Division winners while Mortimer topped Division Three and Donnington Wood C Division Four.

The team knockout winners were Bylet A (Division One), Horsehay A (Division Two), Madeley CC B (Division Three) and unbeatable Donnington Wood C (Division Four).

Bylet’s Trevor Steadman won the Merit title and divisional averages winners were Graham Turner (St Georges in Division One), Dave Maiden (Bayley B in Division Two), Geoff Carnell (Bylet B in Division Three) and Tony Whittington (Edgmond in Division Four)
