Proudlock quit as Newport Town boss in late December after almost two years with The Fishes.

He guided them to second in West Midlands Division One last season but were denied promotion because of a new groundshare – which began in the summer – with Staffordshire side Eccleshall Town. Mickey Baker and Nick Locke, who were with Proudlock at Newport, will join him at Ams as assistant boss and coach. Previous boss Lee Mitchell is to concentrate on matchday operations and commercial activities.
