Town secured a remarkable late turnaround as they starred down a 1-0 home defeat to rivals Wycombe but rallied late on through goals from Omar Beckles and Ollie Norburn's added time penalty.

The crucial win in one of Town's biggest games of the season eased the mounting pressure on Salop boss Ricketts, whose side had suffered back-to-back defeats at relegation rivals Rochdale and Plymouth.

Fans hurled chants from the stands regarding Greg Docherty not being on the pitch as Town faced another deserved defeat where they had not got going.

But Ricketts said: "I feel their frustration. I'd be the same as them, frustration as well having been 1-0 down at home not playing the way we wanted.

"The wind has a big part to play today, without sounding like Jurgen Klopp, we couldn't have the big switches off play, it stopped in the air, we could't get it to Shaun as often as we wanted.

"I'm as frustrated as them, I feel their pain and disappointment, it wasn't going according to plan.

"But never underestimate the hard work of myself and all the staff. We're all working incredibly hard all the time, and the players."

Wild scenes greeted the equaliser and the late winner as Town climbed to 18th, one point above the League One drop zone and two from 12th in a unbelievably tight relegation scrap.

Ricketts said the celebrations were a key sign of unity. He added: "What the supporters need to see more than anything is the desire to get back in the game and their reaction to coming back into it and winning the game.

"The unity within them shows that everyone's in the right place, all pulling in the right direction.

"There is no divides, that's the pleasing thing as manager when you see your players never give up and keep fighting as a team with myself and the staff.

"It just shows we have to stick together, the league is that tight, the fact we've come back and scored twice shows where we are."
