Shrewsbury Town were twice pegged back by hosts Fleetwood Town in an entertaining clash on the Fylde Coast.

It looked like visiting substitute Jason Cummings had handed Sam Ricketts' side the win inside the final 10 minutes but the hosts fought back for a late equaliser to make it 2-2.

Town reporter Lewis Cox ranks the individuals Shrews performances.

Max O'Leary - Might have conceded twice at Highbury Stadium but can be pleased with his display generally. Made a very good early low save with his legs to keep Ched Evans out. Did well with balls into his box although was almost caught out by one high ball just before half-time. 7

Ro-Shaun Williams - Has done well recently and continued his good form here with another telling display. Showed more confidence on the ball with some smart passes down the line and into midfield and made good blocks when the hosts ventured into the box. 7

Ethan Ebanks-Landell - Had a couple of wobbly moments but that aside a decent display from the ex-Wolves man. Couldn’t quite get across after Evans’ neat backheel to get a block on Lewie Coyle’s equaliser, but had some good moments including a fine last-ditch block on Evans. 6

Aaron Pierre - Shot over in the first half from distance in trying to recreate his FA Cup heroics and knocked some good passes forward but Evans out-foxed him in creating Coyle’s goal, which will disappoint the defender, who was tested in the air by big Evans too. 6

Donald Love - There was a chance Ryan Sears would get the nod but Love put in a steady display and looked back to the form he was showing a month or so previously. Used his engine up and down the right and supplied some accurate crosses. Defended well with Williams. 7

Josh Laurent - A quietly efficient and effective display from Laurent in his favoured central midfield role. He was a nuisance to Fleetwood in both directions, using his impressive athleticism to nick the ball back and get Shrewsbury moving. A good display. 7

Ollie Norburn - A captain’s performance from the Town midfielder who set the tone within the first quarter of an hour with a number of superb challenges. He used the ball well, too, and got his side playing at times. A couple of efforts from distance blocked but otherwise superb. 8

Scott Golbourne - Was having another steadily impressive afternoon when he surprisingly failed to emerge after half-time owing to precautionary measures on pain in his groin. Did well to get forward and provide a clever pass for Whalley to thump the bar. Replaced by Omar Beckles. 6

Dave Edwards - Played a huge part in Town’s opener as his presence forced Fleetwood into a mix-up before getting in the way of a clearance helped a ball into Callum Lang’s path. Was busy otherwise and used the ball well at times. Is more of a threat in support of the top two. Picked up a knock early on. 6

Shaun Whalley - An impressive afternoon for Town’s No.7 as he bagged his second goal of the season and his second in five starts with a poacher’s finish after Alex Cairns spilled Lang’s effort. Whalley had already rattled the bar, but his assist for Jason Cummings’ goal was brilliant. 8

Callum Lang - You can’t tell the loan frontman missed three months with a broke foot. He is a tireless worker up for the physical battle with talent to boot. Decent low effort created the first goal and never stopped for his side, causing all kinds of panic in the home defence. 8

Substitutes:

Omar Beckles (Golbourne, 45) - Used the ball well after entering for the second half in a different left wing-back role but Fleetwood had joy down his flank. Got forward when possible. 6

Daniel Udoh (Edwards, 61) - Put himself about for half hour and came close to latching on to a couple of through balls but no joy. Unable to get a block on Josh Morris' late goal, but worked hard. 6

Jason Cummings (Lang, 68) - A continuing theme from recent weeks of really impressive displays from the bench and he capped this one with a superb finish. Looks after the ball very well. 7

Subs not used: Murphy (gk), Walker, Goss, Hart.
