Villa took an early lead when Albert Adomah turned home from a corner, but Wolves were soon level when Diogo Jota tapped in after great work from Matt Doherty.

The hosts edged back in front on 57 minutes when James Chester finished Robert Snodgrass' free kick and just five minutes later it was 3-1 thanks to Lewis Grabban's header.

And then substitute Birkir Bjarnason made it a rout when he beat John Ruddy from the edge of the box with five minutes to go.
