Having slipped off the top of the NIHL Moralee Conference with a 5-0 defeat at title rivals Sheffield Steeldogs on Saturday night, the Tigers moved back to within a point of the Steeldogs – and still have a game in hand.

Though the Tigers fell behind in the 15th minute, Doug Clarkson levelled matters up before firing them in front.

A goal from Scott McKenzie made it 3-1 by the end of the first period and though the Pirates got one back, the Tigers restored their two-goal advantage through Jack Watkins in the 25th minute.

However, Hull slowly clawed their way back into the match and forced the match into sudden death overtime. There were no further goals though and the Tigers held their nerve on penalties.
